Euphoria, lights, rushing, raves and flares...these are the words of the 90's. A period in time which i think has been highly unappreciated. A key era in house music that just needs to be relived every once in a while...the house music produced was just a never ending blur of happiness. Its like the calm before the storm, that blissful moment before you fall into the abyss. Listen to these two classics, put your arms up and just dance in the past...

Dead or Alive
After a long day, hangover still in check, chilled out beats are needed. This German-Norwegian group, The Whitest Boy Alive, from Berlin, have a chilled out Indie vibe. Originally this band started as an electronic dance music project, this explains the way in which the band is able to create an incredible amalgamation of sound. A sound that wraps around the mind, until all that's left is calm.

With a Kiss Kiss Bang Bang
The Correspondents, with the flamboyant Mr Bruce played a wicked set in Leeds Hifi Club this week. The highlight for me was their twist on the all time classic 'Kiss Kiss Bang Bang' originally by High Contrast. This mega mash of sounds is like the rush after the bomb...relentless. Listen and just let go...
(This is The Correspondents at Sunrise 2010 with their version of Kiss Kiss Bang Bang)
Never-ending Coma
This feel good tune just continues without end; this producer is one of my favorites and it isn't hard to see why. Its like a form of euphoric rushing, you don't care, where or who you are. This beat wasn't made for questions, it was just made for the moment. Savor it, turn your bass up, get dancing and close your eyes.

Flashlights and Explosions
Royksopp, a pair from Tromso, Norway, are the epitome of electronic music. The sick and twisted electronic beat is heightened with the added input of Trentemoller. The song 'What Else Is There' is aptly named. There is nothing else. This tune has the ability to make you feel like your flying over a dark landscape. Its like staring into the Northern Lights in that state of mind where reality doesn't matter, your simply left with your mind, the lights and the music.

Grab a Balloon
These photographs taken by XO's Hyghly Alleyne and Lamar Taylor give off an edgy grudge appearance. Almost aggressive in style yet with a subtle softness that draws you into the protagonists journey. It makes me want to follow, and it can only lead somewhere good. Lights, haze, action...
Lighten Up
Sometimes when the cigarettes are low and the money short, one just needs a song that makes the world melt into colors of the past. Onra is like taking a watch and setting it to a wild mix of chilled out electro 80's vibe...in other words, madness which i want. Can somebody take me back to this time? Put this on and turn the volume up...

Cant Shake This One
This must be a match of fate. Who better to correspond their musical genius than The Weeknd and Florence and The Machine. The combination is one of Florence's mystical voice, resonating between the melodies and dark input of The Weeknd. The result; a powerful raw quality. This song takes the rush of the world, and slows it down until all you can feel is the rolling sensation of smoke as you inhale. I don't think i will be able to shake this tune out of my head anytime soon...

No Ordinary Canadians
This Canadian Duo from Toronto do not just mix music, they create a paradox of their own. The grimy undertones with the classic voice of the Stones, melts in the ears. Sit back, relax, roll...let this pair transport you into a world that's no longer your own.
Summer Come Tomorrow
It may be November, but its never too early to be thinking about that blissful period of time when music blares, one sees countless ponchos's and cheeky doses of narcotics...one word. Festivals. The want and need to go to this festival is already brewing and personally in my opinion is the next summer must do. Start that summer fund, this will be too good to miss...

The Beginning
Getting up each day, fog, cigarettes and hangovers. Music is what one wakes up to. Whether it be Electro, Indie Rock or Minimal House. Each to their own. That's the way music should be, individual taste but shared by many, a beautiful oxymoron of sound. This morning i woke up, looked outside and realized the weather was crap and there were things to be done. Yet this song made the day blur by in some dreamy Thai green haze. The perfect mixture of deep vocals and a melody that seems to flow like a tide, in and out of my head, making minutes into seconds.
