Nicolas Jaar played a mind lifting set in Leeds Mint Warehouse this weekend. After having not played in the UK recently there was no better night than this. Jaar knows the very soul of of Minimal House music. Not only did he get the crowd swaying heads back and eyes closed but he filled the room with his wonderfully intoxicating sound. After the new year celebrations are over and that night of eternal fireworks inside your head recedes, I found myself listening to this song on repeat. Zulu Winter has an understated Indie Rock edge that just keeps evolving throughout his music. His voice echoes in your mind with his lyrics wrapping themselves around you like that hot blaze you receive when walking into the tube station on a cold day.
